University of Cologne deploys network-hosted storage virtualization solution from Cisco Systems and IBM
The University of Cologne is deploying a network-hosted storage virtualization solution using the IBM TotalStorage SAN Volume Controller Storage Software for the Cisco MDS 9000 Family of Multilayer Intelligent directors and fabric switches. The deployment will help the University of Cologne manage its disparate data storage assets centrally, and increase the availability of storage overall and for individual faculties. The project will also help facilitate more cost-effective purchasing of future storage assets, and support more storage-intensive research projects.

AXA Group upgrades global data centers with Cisco SAN equipment
AXA Technology Services, the infrastructure service delivery arm of the AXA Group deployed Cisco MDS 9000 Family of storage area networking (SAN) director- and fabric-class switches as part of a broad, strategic storage consolidation program in six of its "IT Competency Centers" around the world. Using a combination of Cisco MDS 9509 Multilayer directors and Cisco MDS 9216 Multilayer fabric switches, AXA is consolidating its storage infrastructure in the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, making this the largest planned Cisco MDS 9000 implementation to date.
Supermarket giant, Ahold USA achieves immediate ROI using Cisco MDS 9000 storage solution
Ahold USA , a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold, the world's third largest food retailer, needed to consolidate and simplify its storage infrastructure. A Cisco MDS 9000 based solution has resulted in immediate return on investment, enabling the supermarket giant to reduce storage management complexity and cut costs by more than US$500,000 annually.
