Order types and Intended Use (purchase order [PO] type)
 

As of August 15, 2005, the values for order types in the Ordering Tool will be simplified (see Figure 7). The values are:

  • Standard Order
  • Service-Only Order
  • Trade-In Order
  • Try-and-Buy (entitlement based)

E-rate, promotion, and U.S. government orders should be entered as standard orders, and the Ordering Tool will derive the correct order type based on the presence of an e-rate, promotional, or DPAScode or an end-user market selection of U.S. federal government. The Header Details page has a new field for entering code information.

PO Type Renamed as Intended Use

The PO type will be referred to as Intended Use (see Figure 8). Possible values for Intended Use are:
  • Resale
  • Internal business use
  • Labs/demonstrations
  • Service provision use
  • Leasing
  • Stocking (new)
