The Cisco Security VPN/Firewall Express Specialization is scheduled to retire on Feb 1, 2008. That will be the last date for submission of applications for this specialization. Specializations earned up to and on Feb 1, 2008 will remain valid for one year from the date the specialization badge is granted.

The Cisco Security VPN/Firewall Express Specialization recognizes partners for their knowledge and expertise in selling, designing, installing, and supporting a network security solution to small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers. Achieving a Cisco Security VPN/Firewall Express Specialization boosts your company's value with prospects and customers by enhancing and validating your ability to deliver a network security solution that integrates both VPN and firewall protection. This specialization was designed to build on existing Cisco course work, exams and certifications.

The Security VPN/Firewall Express Specialization uses training already included in the Advanced VPN/Security Specialization. This makes having both Specializations redundant. Therefore, partners can choose one or the other program, but cannot have both Specializations.
