This product bulletin describes the content and delivery information for Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.3(8)JK, which is used to operate the Cisco® 3200 Series 2.4 GHz Wireless Mobile Interface Card (WMIC).
The Cisco 2.4 GHz (WMIC) is an optional hardware feature of the Cisco 3200 Series Wireless and Mobile Router, and provides integrated 802.11b/g wireless WAN or LAN capabilities. The Cisco WMICs are designed to be integrated with the Cisco 3200 Series Router, eliminating the need to utilize external 802.11 bridges or access points.
NEW FEATURES
This product bulletin only lists Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JK features that are new to the Cisco 3200 Series 2.4 GHz WMIC; more information is available in the release notes. The new features supported in this software release include the following:
• Universal Workgroup Bridge
• MBSSIDs-Multiple, BSSIDS
• 802.11i Security Features
• 802.11e QoS Features (based on Wireless Multimedia [WMM] Specifications))
• EAP Authentication methods
• Auto Install Mode*
• Repeater Mode*
• AP/Root Support for CCXv4 Client Features
* Based on features supported in Cisco Aironet based APs and Bridges
UPGRADE PATHS
Customers can download Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)JK software from the Cisco.com software image library. The IOS software image name for this release is c3201-k9w7-tar.
