End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco 7603 Router

End-of-Life Notice, No. EOL5030 - Amended
Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® 7603 Router. The last day to order the affected product is March 1, 2006. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until March 1, 2011. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco 7604 Chassis. Information about the replacement product can be found at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps368/ps6316/product_data_sheet0900aecd8027cc3e.html.
This end-of-sale notice is only applicable for the Cisco 7603 and does not affect the Cisco 6503E chassis.
Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating to the replacement product.

End of SW Maintenance Releases Date

The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.

End of Routine Failure Analysis Date

The last-possible date a routine failure analysis may be performed to determine the cause of product failure or defect.

End of New Service Attachment Date

For equipment and software that is not covered by a service-and-support contract, this is the last date to order a new service-and-support contract or add the equipment and/or software to an existing service-and-support contract.

End of Service Contract Renewal Date

The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product.

September 1, 2010

Last Date of Support

The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

Product Migration Options

The recommended replacement for the Cisco 7603 is the Cisco 7604 Router. The 4-slot Cisco 7604 delivers performance in a compact 5-rack unit (5-RU) form factor. It can be configured two ways - with a single supervisor engine and up to three line cards, or with dual supervisor engines and up to two line cards for high availability and redundancy.
