Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Catalyst 4000 Chassis (3-slot) Supervisor Engine 1 and (6-slot) Supervisor Engine III DC power supplies. The last day to order the Catalyst 4000 Chassis (3-slot) Supervisor Engine 1 and (6-slot) Supervisor Engine III DC power supplies is May 3, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Catalyst 4000 Chassis (3-slot) Supervisor Engine 1 and (6-slot) Supervisor Engine III DC power supplies. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco Catalyst 4003 chassis with Catalyst 4000 Supervisor Engine I is the Cisco Catalyst 4503 with Supervisor Engine II-Plus.
The recommended replacement for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(12c)EW is Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(25)EWA2 or later. These releases support additional hardware and software features.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to: http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
