Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® Catalyst® 2950 LRE 997 Switch. The last day to order the Cisco Catalyst 2950 LRE 997 Switch will be January 25, 2005. Customers with active service contracts may continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 25, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst 2950 LRE 997 switches.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Catalyst 2950 LRE Series switches, which provide advanced Layer 2-4 intelligent services. Customers can deploy advanced quality of service (QoS), granular rate-limiting, enhanced network security, and multicast management networkwide-while maintaining the simplicity of traditional LAN switching.
