END-OF-LIFE NOTICE, NO. 2601
Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® uBR10012 Spatial Reuse Protocol (SRP) OC12 single-mode fiber, long reach (SML) dynamic packet transport (DPT) WAN line card for the Cisco uBR10012 Universal Broadband Router. The last day to order the Cisco uBR10-SRP-OC12SML DPT WAN line card is March 31, 2005. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until March 31, 2010. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco uBR10-SRP-OC12SML DPT WAN line card. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco uBR10-OC-48 DPT and Packet-over-SONET interface module which offers OC-48 DPT at four times the line rate of the SRP-OC12 option. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco uBR10-SRP-OC12SML DPT WAN line card to the Cisco uBR10-OC48-DPT/POS interface module.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco uBR10-SRP-OC12SML DPT WAN line card is the Cisco uBR10-OC48-DPT/POS interface module (Table 3). The Cisco uBR10012 OC-48 DPT/POS Interface Module offers OC-48 DPT at four times line rate of the SRP-OC12 option. It requires two slots to operate as a DPT interface and is full-line rate capable only when a Cisco PRE-2 or higher processing engine is used in the Cisco uBR10012.
