Cisco® announces a change in product part numbers for the ATA 186 and ATA 188. This is a product part number change only announcement. Customers will experience no change in functionality when using the new product IDs. The new product IDs are designed to simplify the customer ordering process. The last day to order the affected product using the current product IDs is April 13, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified in the end-of-life announcement for the new product ID(s). Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Product Migration Options
A new hardware version of the ATA has been released and is presently shipping. Customers who wish to book ATAs must use the new SKUs. The new hardware has the same form factor, features, and functionality of the old hardware and also retains the same model numbers, ATA 186 and ATA 188. The new hardware, however, requires customers to download version 3.1 or later of the ATA's software image. This new software runs on all ATAs, both old and new hardware, but the new hardware will not run older images of the ATA's software. This software requirement forced a changed in the SKUs. The new SKUs are listed in Table 4.
