Overview
The Content Networking Business Unit (CNBU) is announcing the End of Life for the following Cache Engine Series products with part numbers CE-505, CE-550, CE-550-DS3, and CE-570. The following CE-500 series products will NOT be affected by this EOL: CE-507, CE-560 and CE-590.
Minimum Software
The minimum revision of Cache OS software needed to support the CE-500 series products is v2.3.1 and 2.5.

Internal Announcement
The EOL of the above Cache Engine part numbers is to be announced via email to the Cisco sales team in August 2001.

End of Sales Announcement
End of Sales Announcement of the above Cache Engine part numbers will be announced via e-mail to the Cisco sales channel sales representatives and to the field in August 2001.
End of Production Date
End of production to occur in July 2001.
Last Software Support Date
The last software support date will be August 2003; the last supported version of software is intended to be Cache Engine v2.5.
End of Support Announcement
The end of support announcement will occur in February 2003.
Date for Discontinuing Renewal of Contracts
End of contract renewals will be in August 2004.
Obsoletion
The CE-500 (Robin + Hardware Platform) products will be declared obsolete in August 2005.

About CTMP
The Technology Migration Plan is a sales program that allows customers to trade in Cisco and competitor products for credit toward the purchase of any new Cisco product. The program underscores Cisco's commitment to customers in terms of end-to-end product solutions as well as emphasizing the commitment to provide effective migration options in the face of ever changing network requirements.
Cache Engine Upgrade: Customers who currently have Cisco Cache Engine 500 and 2050 products deployed in their networks can upgrade to Cisco Content Engine 500 and 7300 products. Customers are encouraged to upgrade their cache engines to content engines to gain powerful new functionality, more storage, and greater performance.
