Software Release 4.5.0 for the Cisco ONS 15454 SONET Multiservice Transport Platform
Cisco Systems® announces the Cisco® ONS 15454 Software Release 4.5.0, which provides intelligent dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) capabilities within a multiservice transport platform (MSTP). Cisco ONS 15454 Software Release 4.5.0 focuses on simplifying metropolitan (metro) and regional DWDM network deployment and operations as well as supporting new wavelength service capabilities.

Cisco ONS 15454 Software Release 4.5.0 brings new MSTP intelligent DWDM features to the Cisco ONS 15454 system. Release 4.5 supports only the new DWDM features and functions. Previously released Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP features and functions will not be supported in Release 4.5.
A planned future software load, Release 4.6 will integrate the previous multiservice-provisioning-platform (MSPP) capabilities with the new MSTP capabilities. For MSPP features, users should continue to deploy Release 4.1.x or previous software releases. Cisco ONS 15454 MSTP hardware and software features supported in Release 4.5.0 are detailed in the Cisco ONS 15454 Software Release 4.5.0 release notes.
If interconnecting a Cisco ONS 15454 Release 4.5 MSTP node to a previous Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP node via section-data-communication-channel (SDCC) active optical interfaces, the Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP node—and all attached SDCC interconnected nodes—should be operating on Release 4.1.x software.
Availability
