SN 5428 is used generically throughout this document to refer to either the SN 5428 or the SN 5428-2.

This FAQ refers to version 3.2.1 of the SN 5428 firmware. The majority of this information is applicable to newer or older versions of the driver. There may however, be slight operational differences between driver versions, which may result in behaviors inconsistent with what is described in this document.

Q. How do I find out what version of software I am currently running?



A. Issue the show version command to determine what code is running. In this command output, the SN5428 is running 3.5.3

Q. Is the SN 5428 interoperable with other non-Cisco iSCSI drivers?



A. The SN 5428 software version 3.2.1 has been designed to be compatible with either draft 08 or the RFC version of the IETF iSCSI specification. A variety of third party initiator vendors have tested their products with the SN 5428 and found them to be interoperable. Contact the initiator manufacturer directly to get the latest status and availability information for their specific product.
