End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
for Cisco 2509 and 2511 Access Servers
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® 2509 and 2511 access server products—including the Cisco 2509 Access Server, Cisco 2509-DC, Cisco 2509-ET, AS2509-RJ, Cisco 2511 Access Server, Cisco 2511-DC, AS2511-RJ, and AS2511-RJ-CH products. The last day to order the Cisco 2509 and 2511 access server products will be July 1, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until July 1, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco 2509 and 2511 access server products. Table 2 provides a listing of affected product part numbers.
The primary replacement platform for customer migration is the Cisco 2610XM Multiservice Platform. Additional replacement options include the Cisco 1711 and 1712 security access routers, Cisco 1721, 1751, and 1760 modular access routers, and the Cisco Catalyst® 2955 Switch.
Table 3 provides proposed replacements for migrating from the Cisco 2509 and 2511 access server product families.

|

|
The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.
