End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Fiber Distributed Data Interface for the Cisco 7500 Series Router
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI) Port Adapter for the Cisco 7200 Series and 7500 Series routers. The last day to order the Cisco FDDI port adapters is September 30, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until September 30, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco FDDI port adapters. Table 2 lists the part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Ethernet and packet-over-SONET (POS).

Product Migration Options
There is no direct replacement for these FDDI port adapters. Customers are encouraged to consider technologies such as Ethernet and POS.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to:
