End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco Catalyst 2900 Series LRE XL Switch
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® Catalyst® 2900 Series LRE XL Switch. The last day to order Cisco Catalyst 2900 Series LRE XL switches will be April 26, 2004. Customers with the appropriate support contract may continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until April 26, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Catalyst 2900 Series LRE XL Switch.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco Catalyst 2950 LRE Series switches that provide advanced Layer 2 to Layer 4 intelligent services. Customers can deploy advanced quality of service (QoS), granular rate limiting, enhanced network security, and multicast management networkwide, while maintaining the simplicity of traditional LAN switching.
