The Cisco ASR 9006 Router in a 10-rack unit (RU)
form factor allows for a full featured, highly reliable deployment in space-constrained
environments. This product comes fully equipped with all the same software
functionality and line card options as the ASR 9010, just in a smaller package.
With dual route switch processors (RSP) along with full commons redundancy,
system and network resiliency become a reality for slot-reduced deployments.
The ASR 9006 uses an inventive side to back airflow
to allow for CO deployment regardless of the horizontal slot orientation.
Like the ASR 9010, the ASR 9006 uses the innovative
Cisco IOS XR software which is built especially for distributed systems like
the Cisco ASR 9000 Series. Cisco IOS XR Software is based on a unique microkernel
architecture to enable true modularity. This modularity provides the path
to nonstop operations in software image upgrades or module changes without
affecting normal platform operations.
