Cisco Small Business Managed Switches (Linksys Business Series)

Linksys Manageable Switches have baud rates set to 38400 by default. To check the baud rate setting, follow the instructions below. 

Identifying the Switch's Baud Rate Setting         

Step 1:
Click Start, All Programs or Programs. 

Step 2:
Select Accessories, Communications then HyperTerminal.

Step 3:
When the Connection Description window appears, enter the connection name under Name then click OK. 

Step 4:
Under Connect using select COM1 then click Configure. 

Note: If you are using Windows 98, ME or 2000, click OK.

Step 5:
Look for Bits per second. The default baud rate of the switch is 38400.
