Q. How can I unlock the configurations of the SRW224P?
A. You can manage SRW224P switches through either the web setup configuration or system configuration menu using the HyperTerminal.
- In order to access the management links, you must know the username and password for the switch. By default, the username is admin and there is no password.
- If you are unable to access the management links, ensure that the port belongs to the management VLAN. For instructions on how to determine this, click here.
- If you are still unsuccessful, do a factory reset of the switch. You can reset the switch through either the web setup configuration page or system configuration menu using HyperTerminal.
- If you reset through the web setup configuration page, go to Maintenance and select the Restore Defaults tab.
- Click the Restore Company Defaults link.
- Click OK in order to proceed or Cancel in order to cancel.
- For instructions on how to reset the switch through HyperTerminal, click here.
- If the problem still exisits, ensure you are using the updated firmware for the switch. The best way to update the firmware is through Xmodem. For instructions on how to do this, click here.
Note: Upgrading the firmware through Xmodem will take longer.
- Once the firmware is updated, try to access the management links of the switch.
