Q. How can I access the web page setup configuration for the SRW224P?
A.A wired PC is a computer that you will directly connect to the switch via an Ethernet cable. The wired computer needs to have an Ethernet adapter to establish the connection to your switch.
If you're accessing the web-based setup page of the switch, you need to do the following:
- Connecting the PC to LAN Port of the Switch
- Assigning a Static IP address on your Wired Computer
- Accessing the Switch's Web-based Setup page
Connecting the PC to the LAN Port of the Switch
Follow the steps below to connect the PC to the LAN port of the switch.
Step 1:
Take an Ethernet cable and connect it to the computer. Take the other end of that same cable and connect it to LAN or Ethernet Port at the front of the switch.
Step 2:
After connecting the PC to the Ethernet ports of the switch, assign a static IP address.
Assigning a Static IP Address on your Wired Computer
Step 1:
Assign a static IP address on your computer.Step 2:
After assigning a static IP address on the computer, access the switch's web-based setup page. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Accessing the Switch's Web-Based Setup page
Step 1:
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Step 2:
Go to the Address bar and enter your switch's default IP address "192.168.1.254" and press [Enter].
Note: If the IP address of the switch has been changed, type the switch's IP address in the Address bar instead.
The switch's IP address can be changed by changing it on the switch's web-based setup page or system configuration menu via the HyperTerminal.
If you forgot the switch's IP address, you access the console via HyperTerminal and change the password in the System configuration.Step 3:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. By default it is "admin" for the username and there is no password and then click OK.
The first screen that appears displays the System Description screen for the Sys.Info tab. There are 14 tabs that run across the top of the screen: Sys.Info, IP Conf, Switch Conf., QoS, DiffServ, Security, SNTP, Statistics, PoE, Spanning Tree, SNMP, IGMP, Maintenance and Help.
Note: The default IP address is 192.168.1.254. If the IP address has been changed using DHCP or the console interface, enter the assigned IP address.
