The Click-to-Attend Link

The click-to-attend link in Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook invitations and notifications provides a means to quickly access meetings using Cisco MeetingPlace Web. (You must have Cisco MeetingPlace Web to use this feature.) The click-to-attend link takes you to meetings as a guest, unlike logging in to Cisco MeetingPlace Web using your Cisco MeetingPlace profile. For example, if you are invited to a lecture-style meeting as a speaker and you attend using the click-to-attend link, your speaking privilege is not recognized. During document collaboration, you cannot take control of any documents.

From Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook version 3.4.2.20 on, the click-to-attend link can be viewed either as an icon (seen as an attachment) or as an embedded URL in the body of the invitation. This option became necessary in order to support environments that strip attachments from e-mails and to overcome the Microsoft Security Patch, which strips attachments. This Microsoft Windows Registry setting is used to control this behavior:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Latitude\CalendarGateway\GenerateAttendConfAttachments

Set the value to 1 for an icon, 0 for an embedded URL.

If the user attends recurring meetings using the click-to-attend link, a list of meetings is generated from which the user must then select. If the link takes the user to a completely incorrect meeting (no list), check and (if necessary) change this Registry setting:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Latitude\CalendarGateway\RecurringAttendConfURL

Set the value to:

http://%HOSTNAME%/MPWEB/html/mtgtime32.htm?formtype=listmeetings&ml_list=
mt_rec&sessionid=G007a987654321A&MtgIDToSearch=%MTGID%&stpl=ml_fut_fr.tpl&ML_ST_GMT=
%STARTTIME%&schedulerid=%SCHEDULERID%
