Introduction
Changes to default permissions in IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0 can cause the Interop Gateway Configuration wizard to fail. This document describes the permissions required to configure the Interop Gateway when you set up Audio Messaging Interchange Specification (AMIS), Voice Profile for Internet Messaging (VPIM), or Bridge networking on Cisco Unity 4.0(5) and later with IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0.
Prerequisites
Requirements
Cisco recommends that you have knowledge of IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0 System Administration.
Components Used
The information in this document is based on these software and hardware versions:
-
Cisco Unity 4.0(5) and later with IBM Lotus Domino
-
IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0 and later
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.
Conventions
Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for more information on document conventions.
Background Information
In the Networking in Cisco Unity Guide (With IBM Lotus Domino) and the Cisco Unity Bridge Networking Guide, the procedures to set up Cisco Unity to use AMIS, Bridge, and VPIM networking omit an additional step for the configuration of permissions for the Interop Gateway that is required when Cisco Unity is integrated with IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0. Complete this step before you perform the procedure to configure the Interop Gateway. If you have already attempted to configure the Interop Gateway and receive a failure message, follow the steps in either Solution 1 or Solution 2. Then re-run the Interop Gateway Configuration wizard.
Solutions
In IBM Lotus Domino release 7.0, the default permissions set for the Default account on the access control list for the mailbox.ntf template do not include the permission to replicate or copy documents. This permission is required when you set up the Interop Gateway.
Note: Refer to the applicable IBM Lotus documentation for help adding permissions.
Solution
Add the permission to replicate or copy documents to the Default account in the access control list for the mailbox.ntf template.
With this solution, you expand the default access level permissions on the template file to give any account the capability to copy and/or read documents related to this template. This is similar to how the default permissions were set for this template file in versions of Domino before 7.0.
Solution 2
Add the UnityServers group that was created during the Cisco Unity installation, and grant permission to replicate or copy documents to the group in the access control list for the mailbox.ntf template.
With this solution, you retain the access level permissions on the template file that are set by default in Domino release 7.0, but add expanded access for the UnityServers group.
