This next generation Supervisor Engine features an integrated 720 Gbps switch fabric, and hardware accelerated intelligent services including advanced network management capabilities, Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Network Address Translation, GRE and more. The new Supervisor 720 is compatible with every Cisco Catalyst 6500 chassis and all interface and services modules to ensure investment protection for existing customers. New line cards increase the performance in a Catalyst 6500 switch up to 576 10/100/1000 ports and up to 32 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
