Job Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering leadership across the PDIO model; and prime technical point of contact for the customer and Cisco partner.
  • Generates project documentation (SRS, SSF, NSP, NIP, NRFU) including development of project strategy. Provides documentation for transition to the TAC organisation
  • Generates network configurations from low level design for highly complex networks.
  • Builds simulated networks in test labs to resolve highly complex problems and compatibility issues, and to demonstrate solution performance to the customer.
  • Co-ordinates a team of engineers to deployment and acceptance of the Cisco solution into a customer's network. Obtains the customer's technical acceptance of the Cisco solution.
  • Supports the Account Teams and Business Development resources with input to customer proposals
  • Will provide technical support to customers who hold Advanced Services Subscription contracts (NOS & TAS)

Key Experiences

  • Lead engineer in a project deployed into a Service Provider customer. Would suggest that the minimum project value (services and product) be between $10 - $20 million.
  • Worked within a matrix organisation, with experience of working with Project Manager's, Consultants, Designers, Sales Teams, Business Units and Development Engineers

Key Skills - Technical

  • Qualification: CCIE.
  • Technology: Routing and Switching, MPLS, Security, IPT.
  • NMS awareness.
  • High-Level Design (HLD) & Low-Level Design (LLD) validation.
  • Generation and deployment of working configurations.
  • Development and roll out of project test strategy (CPOC, Staging, Test Bed, Network Implementation Plan (NIP) & Network Ready for Use (NRFU).
  • Crafting network migration documentation and implementation.
  • Documentation generation and ownership: SRS, SSF, NSP, NIP, As-Built NIP, NRFU, Handover.

Key Skills - Non-Technical

  • Technical Leadership, within Cisco, the Customer, and the Cisco partner.
  • Installation and cabling standards.
  • Health and safety standards.
  • Experience of Project management.
  • Customer consultative skills.
  • Commercial/business awareness.
