Effective July 27, 2001, Cisco Systems discontinued the sale of its SwitchProbe product line. Alternatively, Cisco offers Catalyst® 6000 Network Analysis Modules (NAMs) for LAN traffic monitoring instrumentation. The NAM is a card that occupies a single slot in the Catalyst chassis and extends the network analysis capability already embedded in the Cisco Catalyst Supervisor Module. Cisco will continue to offer NetScout's nGenius Real-Time Monitor software bundled in both Cisco LMS and RWAN. This provides customers with continued traffic-monitoring application support of their Catalyst switches, Catalyst Network Analysis Modules (NAM), and SwitchProbe- and nGenius-branded LAN and WAN probes.
