Firmware Version 10.2(2) for Cisco DX80

The 10.2(2) firmware image within the installation program supports the SIP protocol for the following Cisco Unified Devices:

·        Cisco DX80

This firmware version is supported on Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.5(1), 8.6(2), 9.1(2), 10.0(1), 10.5(1) and above.

Installing the Firmware Load

Before using the Cisco DX80 with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 8.5(1), 8.6(2), 9.1(2), 10.0(1), 10.5(1) and above, the latest Cisco Unified Communications Manager Device Pack must be installed on all Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers in the cluster before installing Cisco DX80 firmware.

The 10.2(2) installation program for the Cisco DX80 is listed below.

Note: For the Cisco DX80, you should not add the .loads extension to the firmware version name in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager database.

 

Cisco DX80 Installation Instructions

Perform the following procedure:

1.      Click the following URL:  http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html

2.      Log in to the Tools and Resources Download Software page.

3.      Choose Collaboration Endpoints

4.      Choose Collaboration Desk Endpoints

5.    Choose Cisco DX Series

6.      Choose Cisco DX80.

7.      Choose 10.2(2) under the SIP v.10 folder (Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Software)

8.      Download the files that are listed in Table 1 to your hard drive.

9.      Using your web browser, log in to the Cisco Unified OS Administration web page.

10.  Under the Software Upgrades menu, select Install/Upgrade.

11.  Fill in the appropriate values in the Software Location section for the files you downloaded above and click Next.

12.  In the Options/Upgrades drop-down box, select a file you downloaded above and click Next.

13.  After validating that the MD5 has the correct value, click Next.

14.  Check the installation log and verify that the file was installed successfully.

15.  To install another file, click Install Another and repeat steps 5 – 8.

16.  Log in to Cisco Unified Serviceability web page.

17.  Under the Tools menu, select Control Center - Feature Services.

18.  Select the Cisco Tftp service, and click the Restart button.

 

Verifying the Firmware Load

You may verify the installation of the firmware as follows:

1.      Log in to the Cisco Unified CM Administration web page.

2.      Under the Device menu, select Device Settings > Device Defaults.

3.      Verify the new firmware image name is listed in the Dual Bank Information section Inactive Load Information field for the Cisco DX80.

 

Cisco DX80 Alternate Firmware Format

The Cisco DX80 firmware version 10.2(2) is also supplied in a zip file as an alternative in case a Cisco Unified Communications Manager is not available to load the installer program.  The name of this file is: cmterm-dx80.10-2-2-23.zip.

After unzipping the firmware files, they should be manually copied to the appropriate directory on the TFTP server.
