Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco NCS 2000 EDRA-1-26, EDRA-1-35 and 15454 MSTP SMR-1, SMR-2, AMP-C, RAMP-C and RAMP-CE optical modules. The last day to order the affected product(s) is August 29, 2025. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available under the terms and conditions of customers' service contract.

The NCS 2000 EDRA-1-26 and EDRA-1-35 provides hybrid EDFA and RAMAN amplification. Networks can also be designed and implemented with EDFA-17/24/35 modules along with RAMAN-CTP to achieve similar solution in the network. The OPT-AMP-C is an 80 channel Amplifier with DCU support. EDFA-24 and EDFA-35 provides similar gain and performance and are also optimized for coherent transmission in the optical networks. The RAMP-C and RAMP-CE are counter propagating amplifiers. RAMAN-CTP can be considered as alternate module for deployment. The 40 Channel Single Module ROADMs SMR-1 and SMR-2 doesnt have any direct replacement or similar optical module to be replaced. However customers have the option to perform a Tech refresh of the network by adopting the Flex Spectrum ROADM line cards that perform better and provide more features, functionalities to future proof the network. The Flex spectrum enabled ROADM line cards support Coherent line interfaces from 100G DWDM to Multi Channel carriers or Super channels of Multi terabits per second. Customers may be able to use the Cisco Technology Migration Program (TMP) where applicable to trade-in eligible products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. Refurbished units may be available in limited supply for sale in certain countries on a first-come, first-served basis until the Last Date of Support has been reached.
