The Cisco UCS® X-Series Modular System begins with the Cisco UCS X9508 Chassis engineered to be adaptable and future ready. It is a standard, open system, designed to deploy and automate faster in concert with your hybrid-cloud environment.
With a midplane-free design, the X9508 chassis achieves I/O connectivity using frontloading, vertically oriented compute and accelerator nodes that intersect with horizontally oriented I/O connectivity modules in the rear of the chassis. A unified Ethernet fabric is supplied with UCS® 9108 Intelligent Fabric Modules.
UCS X9416 X-Fabric Module, part of the UCS X-Fabric Technology, supply PCIe Gen 4 industry-standard protocols for GPU accelerators. Interconnections can be easily updated with new modules supporting faster Ethernet, PCIe Gen 5, and CXL.
Eight flexible front-facing slots can house a combination of compute nodes and resource nodes such as GPUs. There are three compute nodes: Cisco UCS X210c M7 and Cisco UCS X410c M7 compute nodes based on 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors, and the Cisco UCS X210c M6 Compute Node based on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors. One resource node – the Cisco UCS X440p PCIe Node – can accommodate up to four GPUs and is always paired with a compute node.
The Cisco UCS X-Series Modular System was designed to be managed with Cisco Intersight™. Intersight is a cloud-operations, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that uses analytics to deliver proactive monitoring, automation, and optimization of workloads across hybrid-cloud environments. Cisco Intersight Managed Mode (IMM) delivers policy-based configurations and accelerates the deployment of both physical and virtual workloads.
