A. Integrated Authentication is Microsoft's term for its authentication methods, which include NTLM and Kerberos. For the user, this makes it possible to authenticate with a web site without sending the username and password over the network, and to benefit from Single sign-on, where the web browser automatically authenticates with certain web sites by using the identity provided when logging into the computer.
The actual authentication method can be Kerberos or NTLM depending on the web browser, network, and Active Directory configuration, but in all cases, the user's credentials are securely exchanged with the web site.
