This article relates to Cisco TelePresence Management Suite.
A. TMS Agent (OpenDS) takes care of the replication. Replication is performed every time a change is written to the database(s).
Also, when no changes are being written, a heartbeat is sent between the replicating partners. The heartbeat interval is 10 seconds and is non-configurable.
What do you mean by a 'multi-master replication environment'?
After the initial replication, no one database is the 'master of all'. For example, whenever you make changes in the Provisioning Directory, these changes are immediately replicated to the other replicating partners, whether it be on another TMS (in a redundant TMS setup), a VCS or a cluster of VCSs. Equally, whenever changes are made on the VCS database, these changes are replicated to the other replicating partners, again irrespective of whether they are on a TMS or other VCSs.
