General Availability (GA) Software 2.0.2 (Formerly Cerent 454) |
This Field Notice introduces the general availability of software maintenance release 2.0.2.
Release 2.0.2 was initiated to introduce software maintenance enhancements to Releases R2.0.0 and 2.0.1. Release 2.0.2 resolves conditions that could affect traffic and that arise after system software is upgraded to Release 2.0.1. The specific issues addressed are listed in Problem Symptoms.
It's recommended that customers upgrade all Cisco 15454 systems to Release 2.0.2.

Maintenance Release 2.0.2 resolves the following issues:
DS3-12 and DS3n-12 clock synchronization issues (Field Notice13: Release 2.0.0/2.0.1 - Removal of TCC, XC, XCVT).
The manual reset of Cross Connect (XC) or Cross Connect Virtual Tributary (XCVT) cards currently required as part of the software upgrade process.
The eventual loss of memory in the Timing Communications and Control (TCC) card due to memory leaks that occur after a large number of messages are exchanged between the TCC and other service cards in the shelf.
A condition existed where TCCs intermittently reboot after a side-switch. This creates a condition where both TCCs appear to be active. This condition does not affect traffic, however, communication to the node where this condition occurs is lost until the active TCC initializes.
Before Release 2.0.2, it was not possible to provision uni-directional DS1 circuits (an eventual Loss of Signal would occur).
When a user attempted to access a Cisco 15454 via the Cerent Management System (CMS) GUI interface, double-clicking on one node would sometimes display the node view and information from a previously selected node. This is resolved in R2.0.2.
The CMS user timeout feature introduced in Release 2.0.1 was ending a user. s CMS session based on security level timers as designed. To enhance the usability of this feature, Release 2.0.2 introduces a dialog box that prompts the user to either re-enter the password or exit the CMS before ending the session.
See Release 2.0.2 release notes, release documentation, and user documentation for specific details on all added functionality.
