A soft reset of an active TCC can cause the 15454-DS3-12-R1 boards to reset. If the board is configured in a potection group, a protection switch will occur.
This issue was discovered during system test of Release 3.3 and has been corrected in Release 3.4. Release 3.3 is the only Release affected by this issue. Release 4.0 and subsequent maintenance releases of 4.0.x will continue to support this board. The 15454-DS3-12-R1 will not be supported in releases 4.1 and beyond due to the physical memory limits of the 15454-DS3-12-R1 board.
During a soft reset of an Active TCC card, DS3 (R1) boards may reset. If the board is configured within a protection group, a protection switch will result.
This issue has been corrected in ONS 15454 Release 3.4. Version 3.4 is available for download from the Software Center on Cisco.com.
Note:?ONS 15454 Release 4.0 will be the last version of software to support the 15454-DS3-R1. ONS 15454 Release 4.1 and later will not support the 15454-DS3-R1 and will raise an alarm on the system if this version board is inserted into a Release 4.1 or later system. If you are currently operating systems using the 15454-DS3-R1 board, it is recommended that you contact your sales team to order enhanced DS3 boards if you require DS3 capabilities in systems beyond ONS 15454 Release 4.0.
