Problem Description

With the metal alarm cover, there is a potential of some alarm pins on the alarm pin wire-wrap block shorting against the pins.
With external pressure on the metal cover, bogus alarms may occur. These alarms will clear when pressure is removed or if the cover is removed from the assembly.  

Background

There was a a change that was made to the Power, Alarm, and Wirewrap protective cover.
The cover was originally plastic and was replaced with a metal cover.
The problem was noticed only after the assemblies were shipping to customers and some customers would see this issue.
The cover did not have the proper clearance for the assembly and the cover could be pushed in toward the pins and a short could occur.

Problem Symptoms

Bogus alarms.
Shorting of supply voltage to external alarms.

Workaround/Solution

Disable control outputs on contact closures.
Replace the existing Metal cover and revert back to the original Plastic cover.

DO NOT SEND BACK THE SHELF ASSEMBLY OR THE DEFECTIVE COVER.

A new kit will be sent with everything needed to fix this issue.
