During manufacturing, the wrong SCSI connector was used on some of the connector locations on the UBIC-H EIA panel.
Sampling has shown that less than 8 percent of UBIC-H EIA panels have one or more incorrect connectors.
It was found that during the installation of a UBIC-H cable assembly on to a UBIC-H electrical interface adapter (EIA) panel, the cable assembly could not be seated on the SCSI connector.
When trying to install the UBIC-H cable assemblies on some SCSI connectors of UBIC-H EIA panels, the connectors do not line up correctly. This prevents the user from turning up circuits on the ports associated with the incorrect SCSI connectors.
Confirm proper SCSI connectors using one of the following tests:
TEST #1: UBIC-H cable assembly method
Install a UBIC-H cable assembly onto unused SCSI connectors
If the cable assembly's alignment pin fits into all the SCSI connectors, then the UBIC-H EIA panel is good.
TEST #2: Drill bit method
Slide the shank end of a #43 or #42 drill bit into one of the threaded holes on each unused SCSI connector.
If the drill bit slides in to all the connectors, the UBIC-H EIA panel is good.
TEST #3: #4-40 machine screw method
Thread a #4-40 machine screw into one of the threaded holes on each unused SCSI connector.
If the machine screw properly threads into all the connectors, the UBIC-H EIA panel is good.
