Cisco noticed an artwork discrepancy on the faceplate's labels of WS-X4712-SFP-E and WS-X4724-SFP-E. Both of the labels display "48-PORT" instead of "12-PORT" or "24-PORT".
No functional or technical defect is found in the product with this bezel print error.
Cisco noticed that the artwork for both WS-X4712-SFP-E (P/N 47-25938-01) and WS-X4724-SFP-E (P/N 47-25939-01) refer to 56-19829-01 which is for 48-PORT.
There is an artwork discrepancy on the faceplate's labels, PN 47-25938-01 and PN 47-25939-01.
This is a minor cosmetic print error and Cisco has fixed it with the release of correct artwork for both WS-X4712-SFP-E and WS-X4724-SFP-E.
As of approximately 12-July-2015, new products that are manufactured are guaranteed to be free of this print error.
No product functional issue is associated with this field notice and no further action is needed.
This is a cosmetic faceplate label print error that displays "48-PORT" on WS-X4712-SFP-E and WS-X4724-SFP-E instead of "12-PORT" and "24-PORT" respectively.
This field notice does not indicate a hardware failure or known issue.
