On affected SKUs, listed in the Products Affected section, two LEDs and two resistors were not added to the Bill of Materials and therefore those LEDs and resistors are not populated on production units. As a result, GE8 and SFP8 WAN ports do not provide visual indication of the link status or data activity. The user is unable to look at the router in order to determine whether the port is active or not active.
Two LED resistors were left off of the Bill of Materials for the these Cisco Product IDs (PIDs):
GE8 and SFP8 have no LED indication of link status or data activity on production units. When either port is active the user will have no visible indication of port status.
The workaround is to view port status from the CLI or replace these units via standard RMA process.
