CUCDM Versions 8.1(8) and 8.1(8)ER1 become slow or unresponsive when they process transactions.
The release of CUCDM Versions 8.1(8) and 8.1(8)ER1 with Platform 4.12(1) include a new feature that uses the SNMP interface. With this feature additional SNMP keys were created that can be queried in order to provide a view of activities in the system queue, which allows for more effective monitoring of system usage. Cisco found that this enhancement exposed a flaw in the operating system with the result that the system becomes slow or unresponsive.
When you use CUCDM Version 8.1(8) or 8.1(8)ER1, the system becomes slow or unresponsive. CUCDM transactions might take longer than usual or are not processed at all.
Workaround
Cisco recommends that customers who run CUCDM Version 8.1(8) or 8.1(8)ER1 contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) in order to perform a service restart and have the CUCDM binaries replaced.
Note: This procedure requires a maintenance window of +- 15 minutes.
Solution
Customers who run CUCDM Version 8.1(8) must upgrade to Version 8.1(8)ER1 first and then apply Version 8.1(8)ER1a.
Customers who run CUCDM Version 8.1(8)ER1 must apply Version 8.1(8)ER1a.
Note: Installation of CUCDM Version 8.1(8)ER1 OR CUCDM Version 8.1(8)ER1a requires a maintenance window of +- 60 minutes for all procedures to complete.
