CSCvg27319 | NCS2006-FTA missing CLEI, PID, Extra Info fields programming |
The "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm might be triggered when a fan tray assembly from a specific batch of NCS2006-FTA fan tray assemblies is inserted into a system with line cards that require high cooling.
A specific batch of NCS2006-FTA fan tray assemblies had a blank CLEI Code field, "N/A" in the Product ID field, and an incorrect Version ID when the EEPROM was programmed.
The "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm is triggered if a fan tray assembly from that batch is inserted into a system that contains at least one of these line cards:
NCS2K-MR-MXP-LIC= | 10/40/100G MR Muxponder - Licensable for Encryption |
NCS2K-200G-CK-C= | 50G/100G/200G CPAK Multi Rate Line Card - SD FEC C Band |
NCS2K-100G-CK-C= | 100G CPAK Multi-Rate Line Card - CP-DQPSK - C-Band |
NCS2K-100ME-CKC= | 100G CPAK Multi-Rate Line Card - CP-DQPSK - Metro - C-Band |
NCS2K-400G-XP= | 400G CFP2 MR XPonder |
NCS2K-400GXP-L-K9= | 400G CFP2 MR XP licensed 100G client bandwidth + 1 port WDM |
15454-M-WSE-K9= | WSE Card |
The problem symptoms are either:
The shelf raises an "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm when an affected NCS2006-FTA fan tray assembly is inserted. The "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm will be displayed if the system contains at least one of these cards: 100G, 200G, 400G, WSE, or MR-MXP.
The Cisco Transport Controller (CTC) Inventory output for the affected fan tray has a blank CLEI Code, "N/A" in the Product ID field, and an incorrect Version ID, as shown below.
Representative Picture:
If the "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm is observed, complete these steps in order to recover:
Check the fan tray serial number in the Serial Number Validation Tool to see whether the fan tray is affected.
If the fan tray is affected, open a Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) case for resolution of this issue.
Sample CTC Inventory output on a corrected NCS2006-FTA is as shown below:
Representative Picture:
A unit is deemed affected if it meets these criteria:
On the CTC, the NCS2006-FTA fan tray assembly raises the "FTA-MISMATCH" alarm.
The CTC inventory of the fan tray displays the CLEI Code as blank, the Product ID as "N/A," and an incorrect Version ID, as described in the "Problem Symptom" section.
The serial number of the unit shows Affected in the Serial Number Validation Tool.
