Problem Description

After you upgrade the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) C220 M5 or C125 M5 servers with a RAID controller to UCS Manager 4.1(1a) C Bundle or Integrated Management Controller (IMC) Software Release 4.1(1c), the fans run at maximum speed.

Background

After you upgrade the Cisco UCS C220 M5 or C125 M5 servers with a RAID controller to UCS Manager 4.1(1a) C Bundle or IMC Software Release 4.1(1c), the thermal threshold drops to zero which causes the fans to run at maximum speed.

Problem Symptom

Fans run at maximum speed on Cisco UCS C220 M5 or C125 M5 servers with a RAID controller that runs UCS Manager 4.1(1a) C Bundle or IMC Software Release 4.1(1c).

Workaround/Solution

Upgrade to UCS Manager 4.1(1b) C Bundle or Cisco IMC Software Release 4.1(1d).
