CSCvv87641 | SPA512-RC / SPA514-RC - no TLS1.0/TLS1.1 support from EDOS service starting October 4, 2020 |
For SPA512G-RC and SPA514G-RC, the Enablement Data Orchestration System (EDOS) service, webapps.cisco.com, will not support Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and TLS 1.1 as of 2020-10-04.
Any changes or new configurations that require connecting to the EDOS service will no longer work. This impacts all brand-new phones and any others that are not already connected to the service provider’s provisioning server.
All phones currently in service and working will continue to operate without interruption. Those end users will not experience any difference in their service.
For all the phones currently in service, any changes that can be performed directly from the telephony service will continue to work.
If the phones are factory reset, they retain their previously acquired information from EDOS and continue to work. However, as of 2020-10-04, they will no longer be able to receive new information from EDOS.
Any changes or new configurations that require connecting to the EDOS service will no longer work.
If there are any new phones never activated via EDOS, they must be activated via EDOS before 2020-10-04, even if it is with a placeholder configuration so that they can be changed to an end user-ready configuration when needed. Without these actions, the unit will no longer function. Call Customer Support, and if the unit is under warranty, it will be replaced.
