These patches introduce support for the new iOS 13 CallKit Push Notification requirements:
Release 21.sp1.551:
Release 21.sp9.14:
Release 22.0.1123:
Release 23.0.1075:
Per the recommended Installation and Upgrade Order of patches and/or new software, Application Server (AS) patches are applied before eXtended Service Platform (XSP) patches. When the patches listed in this section are applied to the AS, new Push Notification registrations or reregistrations will fail until such time that the supporting XSP patches are applied. This is due to an incompatibility between servers. This issue will occur upon application of the AS patch, even if the AS feature for iOS CallKit Push Notification Requirements has not yet been activated.
Note: If upgrading to Release 24, where the feature is natively sourced from an AS/XSP installation which was not upgraded to support iOS CallKit 13, this incompatibility will exist until the XSP is upgraded to Release 24.
Note: This field notice was originally posted in the BroadSoft Xchange portal and has been moved over to Cisco.com as-is for historical purposes.
Mobile clients that attempt to register for Push Notification will fail to register, which results in failure to terminate calls to the mobile client.
BroadWorks patches can now be downloaded through the Cisco Software Download Center after logging in with your Cisco.com (CCO) account.
The version of BroadWorks that is currently deployed as well as the patches currently activated can be checked by executing the get versions all
command from the CLI. More information on how to check the patch level can be found in the Cisco BroadWorks Maintenance Guide.
Workaround
Delay application of the patches until a solution becomes available
-OR-
Remove all platform and server versions of these patches until a solution patch is available
-OR-
Alternatively, immediately apply the supporting XSP patches after the application of the AS patches during the same planned maintenance window.
Patch
Patches (AP375382) for all affected releases and servers have been released to Xchange. These should be applied together with the affected patches listed in the Problem Description section such that compatibility between servers is maintained, until such time that all servers are completely patched per the normal recommended installation and upgrade order of patches.
For complete details regarding activation and configuration of Activatable Feature 22680 (Support for iOS 13 CallKit Push Notifications), see SupportForIOS13CallKitPushNotificationFD-R240 available on Xchange.
