Problem Description

Cisco Broadworks patches AP.xsp.22.0.1123.ap381140 and AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381140 can fail to apply when the kernel module netfilter is not loaded.

Background

The patches AP.xsp.22.0.1123.ap381140 and AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381140 make configuration changes to the netfilter parameters if the kernel module netfilter is not loaded.

Problem Symptom

The commands used in the patch can fail with this error:

error: "net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_max" is an unknown key
Cannot run sysctl -n net.netfilter.nf_conntrack_max to retrieve currently used system values.
System parameter change cannot be done.
Service Impact:
No service impacted.

Workaround/Solution

Workaround

Do not apply the patch with other patches. This patch is not a dependent of other patches.

If the patch has already been successfully applied, there is no action needed to remove it.

Solution

Patches AP.xsp.22.0.1123.ap381140 and AP.xsp.23.0.1075.ap381140 have been recalled. New versions of the patches have been published to the Cisco Software Download page.
