Problem Description


The Profile Server (PS) upgrade-rollback-upgrade sequence may fail for Cisco BroadWorks XS-TAS deployment customers.


Background


For Broadworks XS-TAS customers, the second upgrade of the operational sequence upgrade-rollback-upgrade will fail for Profile Servers (PS) with the provisioning application when the upgrade target is a PS of one of the following releases:

  • PS_Rel_2024.03_1.383 or earlier releases from the same month
  • PS_Rel_2024.04_1.246 or earlier releases from the same month
  • PS_Rel_2024.05_1.361

Problem Symptom


This is an example of the error encountered during the second upgrade:

Workaround/Solution


Workaround:

Customers with Cisco Broadworks XS-TAS who have upgraded to a faulty PS release should do not roll back. Instead, upgrade to a fixed version. Broadworks XS-TAS customers who have upgraded to a faulty PS release and who have rolled back should contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to obtain a script that will allow subsequent upgrades.

Solution:

The following PS builds have been recalled:

  • PS_Rel_2024.03_1.381
  • PS_Rel_2024.03_1.383
  • PS_Rel_2024.04_1.242
  • PS_Rel_2024.04_1.245
  • PS_Rel_2024.04_1.246
  • PS_Rel_2024.05_1.361.

To resolve this issue, customers should download one of the following releases from the Cisco Software Download Center and install it:
