This document describes how to renew licenses on a Cisco ASA Content Security and Control (CSC) Security Services Module.
Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for information on document conventions.
A. Complete these steps in order to renew licenses on an ASA CSC Security Services Module:
Determine appropriate SKU.
In order to renew licenses on an ASA CSC Security Services Module, you must first determine the appropriate SKU for your licenses. Consider this example CSC module JAB101900KH licensing screen:
This example shows a BASE license and a PLUS license on a CSC-10 module with 500 users. In order to choose the appropriate renewal, you must match the seat count and the module type, and decide which license or licenses to renew (BASE or PLUS or both).
Use these SKUs as examples: L-ASACSC10-500UP1Y or ASA-CSC10-500UP-1Y
This table lists the elements of the SKU that determine the characteristics of the renewal.
SKU Element
Description
10
Identifies CSC module CSC-SSM-10.
500
Identifies seat count of the module.
U
Renew the BASE license only.
P
Renews the PLUS license only.
1Y
Extends the license for 1 year from current expiration.
Note: The SKU can include a U, or a P, or both. If the SKU shows only a U, it renews the BASE license only. If it shows only a P, it renews the PLUS license only.
Refer to the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Content Security Renewals section of Electronic License Delivery (ELD) SKUs for a list of available renewal SKUs.
Once you determine the appropriate SKU, purchase the SKU from a reseller or your account team. Once you purchase one of the renewal SKUs, you receive a unique PAK number.
Once you receive the PAK number, enter it on the Cisco Product License Registration ( registered customers only) web page.
Within the Cisco Product License Registration ( registered customers only) web page, follow the onscreen instructions, and provide the CSC serial number when prompted.
When the process is complete, open the module interface, and click Check Status Online for the licenses.
