This document describes CUSP upgrade from 8.5.1 to 8.5.XX.

Procedure

Here are the steps to upgrade CUSP to 8.5.9.

Step 1. Take a backup of your current cnfguration. Here is a link to backup CUSP:

Step 2. Verify installed Hardware (HW) Module.

NME-CUSP-522 or
SM-SRE-700 and SM-SRE-900

Step 3. Download comptabile software. You can use this link to download the software.

Step 4. Ensure you have downloaded these files in File Transer Protcol (FTP) and Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) servers's root path.
For NME, download these file:
cusp-full-k9.nmx.8.5.9.prt1
cusp-installer-k9.nmx.8.5.9.prt1
cusp-k9.nmx.8.5.9.pkg

cusp-helper.nmx.8.5.9

For SRE, download these files:
cusp-full-k9.sme.8.5.9.prt1
cusp-installer-k9.sme.8.5.9.prt1
cusp-k9.sme.8.5.9.key
cusp-k9.sme.8.5.9.pkg
cusp-k9.sme.8.5.9.pkg.install.sre
cusp-k9.sme.8.5.9.pkg.install.sre.header

cusp-helper.sme.8.5.9

Step 5. Open 2 putty windows.
One for module to monitor installation
One for router to install software

Step 6. Load the file on the module in router putty session.

Router# service-module sm 1/0 install url ftp://myuser:mypasswd@myhost/my-download-path/cusp-k9.nmxsme.8.5.9.pkg

e.g. ftp://cisco:cisco/10.66.74.191/cusp-k9.<nmxsme>.8.5.9.pkg

Tip: If you run into any issues during installation, enable debug sre-install all on the router.

Step 7. Restore the configuration. Navigate to Administration > Backup / Restore > Start Restore and restore configuration.
