This document provides an overview of the WIC-1DSU-56K4 interface card, and provides a sample configuration to use this interface card on Cisco 1600, 1700, 2600, 3600 and 3700 series router platforms.

The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

The four-wire 56k Channel Service Unit/Data Service Unit (CSU/DSU) implements switched 56k and Digital Data Storage (DDS or leased line) operation, and also:
Supports DDS loop rates 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 56, and 64 kbps.
Supports Switched 56 operation at 56 kbps (AT&T Pub. 41458, Sprint TS-0046)
Has receiver sensitivity of -45db at all loop rates.
Has these diagnostic functions:
Self Test Function (at power on and user initiated) Network line, and data terminal equipment (DTE) loopbacks.
User initiated DTE, line, and remote V.54 loopbacks.

Here is a sample configuration suitable for a WIC-1DSU-56K4 interface card.
Note: There are no framing or linecode commands. This is because the 56k card is not a T1, and does not relate to timeslots. There are 24 timeslots in a T1:
