Password complexity allows the user to create a stronger password for network access. Features that go into the creation of a stronger password include a mix of numbers, capital letters, and lowercase letters. This makes a network more secure.
The objective of this document is to show you how to configure the password settings on the CVR100W VPN Router.

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > Password Complexity. The Password Complexity page opens:
Step 2. In the Password Complexity Settings field, check the Enable check box to enable password complexity settings.
Step 3. In the Minimal Password Length field, enter the number of characters that the password must be.
Step 4. In the Minimal Number of Character Classes field, enter the minimal number of character classes that the password must use.
• Upper Case — These are upper case letters such as "ABCD".
• Lower Case — These are lower case letters such as "abcd".
• Numerical — These are numbers such as "1234".
• Special Characters — These are special characters such as "!@#$".
Step 5. (Optional) To require the new password to be different from the previous password, check the Enable check box in the The New Password Must Be Different than the Current One field.
Step 6. (Optional) To give the password an expiration date, check the Enable check box in the Password Aging field.
Step 7. If Password Aging is enabled, enter how long a password lasts (in days) before it expires in the Password Aging Time field. The default is 180 days.
Step 8. Click Save to save the changes.
