Bonjour - Discovery Configuration on 200/300 Series Managed Switches

Objective

Bonjour is a service discovery protocol that enables the automatic discovery of devices and services on IP networks. When Bonjour is enabled on the switch, the switch broadcasts bonjour discovery protocol packets to directly connected IP subnets. This allows the switch to advertise the services it provides. Bonjour is useful because it allows the switch to be discovered by network management systems or other third party applications.

This document explains how to enable Bonjour - Discovery on the 200/300 Series Managed Switches.

Discovery - Bonjour

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > Discovery - Bonjour. The Discovery - Bonjour page opens:

Step 2. Check Enable in the Discovery field to globally enable bonjour discovery on the switch.

Note: By default, Bonjour is enabled for all interfaces that are members of the management VLAN.

Step 3. Click Apply.
