Secure Call Feature Setup via Starcode on the Cisco SPA300 series IP Phone

Objective

Secure call setup ensures that the active call is encrypted and only the intended caller and recipient understands the contents of the transmitted message. Secure call feature ensures that others cannot eavesdrop on the conversation.

This document explains how to activate and deactivate secure call feature on the Cisco SPA300 series IP Phone.

Applicable Devices

• SPA 301
• SPA 303

Secure Call setup via star code

Step 1. To activate secure call feature for all calls, dial *16.

Step 2. To deactivate secure call feature, dial *17.

Secure Call setup via star code for a specific call

Step 1. Dial *18 followed by the phone number to activate secure call feature for that call.

Step 2. Dial *19 to deactivate secure call feature for a specific call.

Note: Before the secure call feature is setup, it should be made available by the service provider.
