Access Web-based Setup Page on SPA500 Series IP Phones

Objective

All devices have built-in setup pages that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties in devices. The setup page allows for easy configuration of the features for the device.  This document shows how to access setup page of SPA500 Series IP phones.

Steps to access the setup page of SPA devices.

Note: Even though the article is also applicable for all SPA 500 Series IP Phones, the device used is SPA509G.

Note: Before accessing the SPA509G's set up page, make sure the device is connected to PoE (Power over Ethernet) enabled router or switch through its SW port.

Accessing the setup page of SPA509G

Step 1. When the IP phone is turned on, it performs Network Configurations and Setup Configurations. After it completes Network Configuration, press Setup button (paper symbol on it) as shown in figure.

Step 2. This will bring up a Setup menu with different options on IP phone's LCD.

Step 3. Press 3. This will bring up Settings menu on the LCD.

Step 4. Press 5. This will open Network Configuration menu on the LCD.

Step 5. Navigate down to option 3 or just press 3. Note that the IP address is displayed under IP Address.

Step 6.Go to a web browser and enter IP address.

Note: The computer and IP phone should be on the same network to access Web-based Utility.

Step 7. Web-based Setup utility will be displayed. If it does not show up, then the computer and IP phone may not be connected to the same network. Ping the IP address of IP phone from the computer to check the connectivity.
