Call control is software within the IP phone that is used to supply the phone's central functions. Changing this setting determines whether or not the phone will be using Skinny Call Control Protocol (SCCP) or Session Initial Protocol (SIP). These protocols are very similar but have a few differences when operating.
The objective of this document is to explain how to configure call control settings on SPA525G and SPA525G2.

Step 1. Press the Setup button to open the Setup menu.
Step 2. Navigate to Device Administration and press the check mark key.
Step 3. Navigate to Call Control Settings and press the right navigation key.
The Call Control Settings menu appears:
Step 4. Navigate to Signalling Protocol. Press the right navigation key to change the Signalling Protocol. The available options are defined as follows:
• SCCP — Offers greater flexibility than SIP. SCCP uses TCP/IP to communicate with other Call Managers in a cluster.
• SIP — Initiates a call but doesn't have as many capabilities as SCCP.
Step 5. Navigate to Auto Detect SCCP. Press the right navigation key to change the SCCP Auto Detect status.
Step 6. Press Save to save your settings.
